Thank you

A thanksgiving for Charlotte Ruth Joyce

Dear friends,

We want to say a heartfelt ‘thank you’ to all who came to the thanksgiving service for Charlotte on Monday, and especially for all who gave so much of their time and their talents to make this such a moving and memorable occasion for us, one which many have told us reflected Charlotte so well, and encouraged them in their faith.  It was a real thanksgiving for her life and love.   The sheer number of family, friends and colleagues who came (approaching 400), many having to stand throughout, is a testimony to the love and respect for Charlotte.   It was good to see the various churches (Holy Trinity Meanwood, Frontline Liverpool and Moortown Baptist Church, plus others), medical communities (Wheatfields, St James and Meanwood Health Centre), Meanwood C of E Primary School, neighbours, colleagues and family coming together.   Thank you for that expression of a community of love for Charlotte, Sam and ourselves, which we sense so strongly.  We are so grateful for all of the ‘love in action’ in the many practical contributions, we have received in the past few weeks, and in all aspects of the very special thanksgiving day, not least the amazing food and drinks provided by an army of volunteers.  Thank you too for the many generous donations to The Samuel Joyce Trust Fund* and Wheatfields Hospice.  We will be more specifically thanking people and teams individually, but for now thank you all for your love and care, and for honouring Charlotte with us.
