Welcome

Welcome to our Circular Economy for Plastics site.   A unique multidisciplinary team at Bradford has been formed to help address the urgent technical and societal need, to enhance delivery of a plastics circular economy (CE) in the UK. We bring together an exciting new combination of leading researchers with expertise in polymer engineering, materials chemistry/ life sciences and management. Technical and behavioural aspects of plastics CE are being addressed through a portfolio of projects.

The University of Bradford has internationally recognised research, facilities and expertise in the world-class Polymer IRC (Faculty of Engineering & Informatics, FoE), Chemistry & Bioscience (Faculty of Life Sciences, FoLS), and the triple-crown accredited School of Management (SoM, in FoMLSS) – an Ellen MacArthur Foundation (EMF) recognised leading- and the first -Pioneer University in CE research and the first MBA-level teaching programme in CE, Innovation & Enterprise. These are being combined in our CE for Plastics programme 'Reducing Plastic Waste through a Creative Circular Economy (REPLACE)’

In addition, we are one of only 4 groups funded by the EPSRC-NSFC UK-China Low Carbon Manufacturing programme - click for details.
