We welcome your interest in the volunteer teams for Amity Foundation’s Summer English Program.
- We have been recruiting volunteers in the UK for this Amity program for many years through Friends of the Church in China and we have a responsibility to ensure the suitability of those volunteers that we recommend.
- We hope this site will give you helpful information as you explore this exciting opportunity to teach in China. If so, please complete the Enquiry form (see Contact Us).
- Although teachers are always welcome, you do not need to be a teacher or have teaching experience to be a volunteer-but you do have to be comfortable with leading and presenting in front of a group of 25 adults. Some of our best volunteers have experience outside the education world.
- FCC holds an initial enquiry meeting one Saturday in March, run by experienced volunteers for anyone interested in learning more about this exciting opportunity, and a team planning meeting in May.
- If you are thinking of joining the SEP, attending these meetings is a must. Please contact Jane Coates or Angela Evans for dates and information - see Contact Us.
The initial enquiry and team planning meetings are held:
- On a Saturday;
- Central London venue;
- No charge, but bring lunch.
You will find out about:
- The Friends of the Church in China and Amity Foundation;
- The application process;
- Preparing to travel to China;
- Lots of information about what volunteers’ actually do.
There will be lots of time for your questions.
You will meet others interested in teaching in China
